I live in toronto canada, what is cheaper for cooking electricity or propane cylinders?

I would have to say propane and it also cooks faster.

In almost every market, propane is cheaper to use, because it is a raw energy source. Electricity is a manufactured energy source (usually from natural gas or coal), and therefore more expensive.

PS.... All the great chefs of Europe cook on gas ;o)

I actually think electricity. I previously used propane, now I use electricity. I find it's way cheaper with electricity.

I don't know what Electric runs in Canada, but where I am it is cheaper to use electric.

Here in the UK gas is far more economical to cook with, it is instant heat so therefore also timesaving.
