Your doing exactly the right thing! No doubt. I'm sorry you lost your job over it, that's awful. But you do have to believe you son and you need to make sure he is not with them unsupervised if that's the way his mind works. Your doing great, sorry it's so hard.

As a grown woman who was sexually abused as a child, I fully support and encourage any action that helps put an end to abuse. I was not taken seriously as a child; my own mother made light of the situation. You are doing the right thing to help your son. Losing your job is obviously not a pleasent experience but you are doing your son and many other children a great service.

Sounds like you did the right thing. Of course I cannot make any judgements as I don't know you, your ex, your son, etc.

But any time a child tells another grownup something like that, you have to take it seriously. A child's safety is the number one priority.

No one makes money for doing "nothing". If it turns out that your son was mistaken by your ex's comments, definitely apologize to your ex, but explain that your son's comments had to be taken seriously, just in case.

I hope your family gets through this ordeal in one piece. Good luck.

Protect your children at all costs. That is your job. Nothing else will do.
