It seems that the education system attracts liberal professors and teachers and some irresponsible teachers teach with a liberal bias. It is irresponsible because students are influenced by this and do not learn to think for themselves. Teachers should teach both sides of every issue and provoke individual thought on issues. Why is the system a majority of liberals?

It is not a blanket statement. Look at the facts! Also, one can argue that media does not necessarily reflect the voice of the people, but the people are affected by the media and often parrot what the mass media (and it is liberal) has to say because they are not knowledgeable enough to comment using their own ideas. I have been to several institutions and yes, the majority of faculty try to impose their liberal ideas on the student body. We are not talking about being fiscally liberal either!!!! It is the social liberal bias that is present...and I am quite aware of the political spectrum and what defines a moderate. Only the good teachers are able to move away from this bias. There are good liberal and conservative educators out there, but their biases need not be pounded into the heads of young people.

That is because, and this is the truth, liberals are the ones fighting to strengthen our education system. While conservatives are concerned with what is going on today, liberals are focusing on the future of our society. Liberals are drawn to jobs as teachers because they want to educate students on the big picture. I don't mean that only liberals are good teachers; I have had some amazing conservatives as instructors. I mean to say that they should present both sides, but it is difficult when the other side refuses to get involved.

You have been misled to believe that moderates are liberals.
It has been an intensive 're-education' campaign from Carl Rove, driven by the conservative think-tanks such as American Enterprise Institute and right leaning media such as Fox News and the various columnists and radio talking heads.

A fact presented with an opinion against the fact do not make balance. They make lies.

You have been shifted so far to the right that you no longer recognize the middle.

By definition liberals are humanists; this makes them want to teach and help people. Liberalism lends itself to naivety and laissez-faire which is the root to all that is wrong in American society today. It explains separation of family, illegitimate children, poor value systems, abortions, crimes, and poor ethics. Liberalism is a curse for an educator. The best education is from an unbiased point of view which considers left and right biases. Conservatives in general think with more depth and are less concerned with 'social welfare'. This does not make them less human. They are more concerned with improving society through other venues such as rules and discipline and systems of control that benefit the whole of society. Many educators are conservative but are typically not hired by the many liberal biased systems. They are seen as stern and upholding order and thinking with their heads and not their emotions. Liberals use their emotions before using their intelligence. The educator should not be thinking with his heart but with his brain - his sincerity in educating should be through his heart.

I agree if you are a teacher you should leave your beleifs, biases, and definetly vies on politics at the door. Kids need to decide for themselves to be liberal or conservative.

Your statement has absolutely no basis. It is utterly untrue (take any economics course in one of these 'liberal' institutions to see for yourself). You do not provide any empirical data to support your position. Why is it that conservatives often make blanket statements with no factual basis?

Simple, with higher learing, you are introducted to new ideas and "radical" beliefs which agree with the liberal views. The more you know as far a differenet ideas, the more liberal you tend to be as you begin to see everything differently.

as with everything else, the media covers the vocal few, not the majority who do their jobs and do them well.
