You should follow and question whatever religion you choose to. Anyone who actually used this question to further sink their religions claws into somebody should be disgusted with themselves. A decision of this magnitude can only be made after discovering what fits for you. Not what all you morons are trying to shove on to her. No wonder I hate religions.

My advice to you would be to purchase a Bible (if for some reason you don't have the resources to purchase one let me know and I will mail you one). Read through the New Testament. Read about Jesus and his Disciples. Read of the instructions Jesus leaves us. Then if visit a local church. I would suggest maybe a Baptist or Church of God (Anderson, IN) Church. Be weary of the non-denominational churches. Do some soul searching. Pray that God will guide you to where you need to be. People will try to tell you that there isn't a God and that it doesn't matter what religion you are because we are all going to die. Which is true to an extent. Every person that walks the earth will die ONE death, a physical death. It is up to the individual if they will suffer the second death, spiritual death. If you get a Bible and read it, believe it, and apply it then God will have his hand on you and you will survive the second death. Just pray and seek God's will. I will be praying for you also.

Non-denominational. With religions there are always conflicts. To have the peace, love, and joy try reading the Bible. Read with an open heart and an open mind. You may be surprised at what you find out. When one is close minded they have a tendency to scoff. Begin with Mathew and end with Revelations. Good luck if you don't want to do this in finding a religion. To many of them out there for me to pick and choose from. From Atheism to Christianity the list goes on and on.

Do not be a sheep. All religions are just reflections of someone else's opinion of what God is or wants. Every religion picks and chooses which aspects of their holy book(s) they will follow and which ones they will ignore. If you must choose a religion, pick one that's not violent or hypocritical. That means you should stay away from Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Try one of the less popular ones.

Well, Christianity is the only religion whose founder is not in the grave. If Jesus came back from the dead, maybe he knows something that the rest do not?
I don't know if this answers your question or not, but one of the main reasons that I believe in Christianity is that the people who knew Jesus were willing to be tortured to death rather than change their story that they saw Jesus return from the dead.
If the apostles were lying about seeing the resurrected Christ, then why didn't they take back their story when they were individually being tortured to death? Every one of the apostles (Except John, who died a natural death in exile on Patmos), were killed for their faith. Wouldn't a liar recant this story to save his own life?
What did the apostles have to gain by making it all up? What good does power, control or fame do for a dead person?
I accept the apostles' story because the witnesses were creditable.
PS: Yes, I have heard the crack about suicide bombers, but the main difference between the modern bombers & the apostles are: (1) the bombers did not see Mommand personally, so they are not eye-witnesses to anything (Unlike Peter, & Paul, who claimed to see Jesus alive with their own eyes and then died rather than take it back); and, (2) the bombers are killing innocent people (others) for their faith, not suffering for it (I assume that blowing yourself up is quick & painless compared with being crucified.).

Well your personal choice of religious preference is not important. Many people are deceived by many preachers. Be aware of hypocrisy. You will find in many different religions that they follow part of the words while throwing other parts away, saying inside themselves this does not apply. What you should do is look deep inside yourself, Do unto others as you would have done to you. Be humble, and do good to others, Have mercy upon another. these are the basic principles of attaining your better self. Be slow to anger, Quick to listen, slow to reply, consider your words wisely. Believe no man that comes you preaching then turns around and asks you for money "offerings" the word of god is free and freely given.

Nah...check this out. It is a great site. Use the Belief-O-Matic to match your personal sensibilities with a religion.

Although, I believe that most structured religions are corruptions of what began as attempts to provide a guide toward spirituality. Spirituality is your personal relation with the divine. Do not let any religion take that from you.

The best religion is being a human being as you are created. Be a perfect model of the same and that is the best religion.

Choosing a religion isn't about being 'comfortable'. I say read the Bible for yourself and join up with those who keep ALL the commandments without compromise. And keep the Sabbath! It's a part of the same law that says do not kill and do not commit adultery. Keep all or none. If you love God, obey Him no matter the costs - it's that simple.

Do not join any religion - organized religions are about hierarchy and control, not spiritual growth. Seek out and discover truth yourself and you will be much better off in the end, although it is a much harder road. Many join religions because they do not want the responsibility of finding out the truth for themselves, but want it told to them.
