and rally around "Code Pink" and other supporters of Cindy Sheehan, if/when terrorists attack S.F., or another earthquake devastates them, should the rest of the U.S. just laugh in their face and say "too bad you don't want any military support!"??

The answer to your question is no. But when San Francisco decided not to let military recruiters at their schools and stopped all ROTC programs the fed. government should have stopped all fed $$. Which is legal.......

No, it's still part of the U.S, even if it's a zit on the face of the country. Besides, if they hit San Francisco, odds are there's going to be more targets.
But, since they want to get rid of anything military, it's the perfect grounds for people NOT going to visit the place and SPEND YOUR MONEY in more deserving cities in the area. Why, on the other side of the Bay you can go visit a bunch of old military ships, even an Aircraft Carrier!

Sounds like the action of a dictator to me....how ironic is that?

Besides, if the rest of the USA wanted to refuse San Francisco military aid in a crisis, they should then return the 20% of all taxes for all residents that the military budget represents for all the years they haven't needed it nor used it. Then if SF want to run things like a city-state with its own paramilitary/police regime (which would be alot cheaper and safer), they should be entitled to it. The American war machine if far overbloated for what is required of it anyways.

Hey think about this one: if major cities were allowed to opt out of federal military spending to instead use the money on firefighters and policing, the US military complex would collapse as all the major cities of the USA are more liberal in flavour.

Um, no. The United States doesn't decide that becase we disagree with someone we'll treat them badly. By law, the military has an obligation to defend the USA, and the military will defend it even if some people don't like the military. The military does not exist just to defend those who like the government or those that the governmnet likes.

I think it is unfortunate that they believe that they need to remove the military from SF, but we have other ways to make them think otherwise...personally I would cut off all federal aid to the city...I bet they change their mind pretty quick.....just like the Universities that banned military recruiters.

Those in the military take an oath to defend against all enemies, Foreign & DOMESTIC.

Paladin...do you really believe your crap...the cities won't win.....the one thing they need that they don't produce is food and water...you become a city/state....now you import almost everything....yeah...that's a lot better.

Yes we should ignore them. Hey, since they have made the area a "sanctuary" for illegals, they have all the help they need.
