Just don't answer their questions. Maybe they will get the hint. Also, some answers are rude, you have one now. We do need a monitor for this site.

I think that there are a couple of levels of questions I have been seeing here. I am only a level 5 so I have not seen the widest spectrum, I admit. From my viewpoint we get

1.The flat out flakey (ones that are grossly sexual in content) and those I report right away.
2. The "my religion is right, you are all Satanists and are going to burn in hell" ones. My daddy used to call this "wrestling with pigs" if I answer one of these. I do it occasionally but I do it out of love and with respect. Quite truthfully, these folks are just a little scary and some of them are in control of nuclear weapons in the United States. I went to a Baptist school so I can quote scripture but I am losing interest in these. I mostly pass by. I just answered a flaming anti-semite with a list of Jewish inventors. Guess I am not cured.
3. I have gotten some rude answers to my answers. That was a surprise. One guy went after all my posts about Freemasonry saying that I was not a REAL Freemason because my Order accepts women. A very nice masculine rite Freemason took him to task on a response right after his, however. That was nice.
4. Funny thing, we do get questions in the Homework section and some people answer with "Do your own homework!" What do they think this person is writing about? I have gotten a couple follow up questions from one answer I gave begging me for more and more. I told them that a perceived emergency on their part hardly constituted one on mine. *sigh* They took that as a rudeness. I think they are from India and wanted more on nuclear science experiments.

We cannot eliminate rude questions but we can ban rude questioners. That is what the report abuse is for.

Stupid questions treat gently. You do not know the intelligence of your questioner. If you recall that the average IQ is somewhere between 100-110, that means that half of us are below that. Right? And some of these folks are VERY young. Some still think you can get Zac Efron's phone number online. *grin* Yep, been asked for that, too.

Peace, love, and smash the dominant paradigm!

i think you should just ignore it and move onto another question that interests you.people probably ask seemingly rude/stupid questions because that's what they "enjoy".some people are here simply for the pleasure of making others feel miserable/mad,while others are sincerely curious for answers that actually make sense.sometimes when i ask humorous questions and get serious answers,i get sort of offended that they looked past my humor and vice versa.however, the thing that does annoy me is when people don't pay attention to the details of my question and answer with something irrevelant or they don't know the answer but answer with "i don't know the answer.sorry." so that defeats the entire purpose of answering with a helpful answer.

No offense, but given the nature of the subjects in this section, it's not going to happen. It would be nice if everyone was taught manners, and learned how to treat differing opinions with respect, but it's not reality. There's always going to be some butthead stirring up trouble and religion has been used for that very excuse for thousands of years.

You can't stop questions, but you can choose which ones you read. Don't respond to the ones you dislike, just report abuse.

You could also direct a question to an abuser, link the stupid question so we could analyse it and all the people that agree with you can report abuse. If there are enough complaints we can make a difference...agree?

You can always try to promote positivity with your own responses, but the rude comments and questions can never be stopped. Best we can hope for is to block the offenders on a case-by-case basis.

I agree. might choose to have them banned. As an Australian, I pass to the holiday > Australia categorie and there are some people on there who i think are not Aussies and are people from yet another united states of america (given the little wisdom they comprehend on the subject of the country), yet pretending to be racist Aussies to objective and make us look undesirable. people like Jay D, Brian and Doris (they are probable a similar individual). in case you examine it out, you will locate the questions they ask. it fairly is ideal to not answer to them so at last they're going to lose interest after speaking to themselves, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it fairly is somewhat tempting to respond.

It is good question.
People are vary in asking and answering every body look to the answer and question in how he was raised.
It is ok to have as you said stupid question but it is for you is so stupid but ,for the person that he asked it is good.
There are people who doesn't know how to ask by asking rude questions and we (the answerer's) must stop him and teach him how to ask.

Usually the best reaction is no action. Just ignore them. The only time I really say anything is if they have really crossed the line and then usually I just report them. Losers.
