The man's name is Warren Jeffs and he is the leader of a religious cult in the US, with 10,000 followers, all of whom consider him a prophet.
His followers can only marry with his permission and he often sleeps with the bride first.
The FBI are after him, but his followers are hiding him.
Now you know why thinking people consider religious people as nut cases.

If you are shoked by such things, what about the Old Testament?

Perfectly normal if you read the bible.

God's instructions for taking a second wife. Exodus 21:10

David takes his second wife (Abigail) after God killed her husband (Nabal). He also, at the same time, took another wife (#3), Abinam. In the meantime, Saul gave Michal (his daughter and David's first wife) to another man. 1 Samuel 25:41-44

David just keeps getting more wives. God doesn't seem to mind a bit. 1 Samuel 30:5

"A bishop must be ... the husband of one wife." Apparently, it's OK for laymen to have several. 1 Timothy 3:2

"King Solomon loved many strange women. And he had 700 wives and 300 concubines." God didn't mind the number so much; it was their strangeness that he objected to. 1 Kings 11:1-3

Gideon had 70 sons (no one knows how many daughters) "for he had many wives Judges 8:30

I'll stop now.

This is old news. He is a nut case, but all people of faith are not. I am an American and so is this guy, but I would hope the world does not view all Americans as Warren Jeffs.

Every tree has a few nuts in it.

PS We don't burn people on this side of the pond.

Did you really have to end an interesting piece of info with that judgemental crap...Now you know why thinking people consider religious people as nut cases? Religious people think...it's just that their thought process and theological reasoning are all bleeped up. Try to tone down the judgements, okay...PEACE!

What quite saddens me is at the same time as they say Mormon polygamists, no longer the sect they quite belong to. It places a nasty call on the LDS/Mormons, who do no longer prepare polygamy. Any guy with more desirable than one spouse is excommunicated in the present day for operating in the route of polygamy. yet, it does provide us a nasty attractiveness. That said, I do experience for those ladies who're in polygamous marriages. they quite don't have a own existence, all their judgements are a set selection. And polygamy is the kind of enormous element of their religions. a lady is anticipated to enter right into a polygamous relationship, regularly at a fairly youthful age, and he or she has no selection yet to finish that. i will no longer help yet imagine that it would want to do something to her in my opinion.

Jeffs is a sick pervert that wants to follow closely the nasty ideas of His hero Joesph Smith.. It's a Mormon teaching that has been used to justify perversion..
