Always - no. Sometimes - yes. It's the meeting in the real world that validates a relationships. Webcams, digital photos, and email are no substitute for knowing someone in person. It's only then that burping the abc's goes from cute to annoying and it's only when you recognise someones annoying traits as annoying that you might have something real.

it wont always work, because the person might have anoying habbits you just CAN NOT live with.
on the other hand, i have a friend whos been able to live with everything theyre boyfriend did when he came over from sweden. theyre going great and hes comming back later this year.
so yes, they can work in that sense, how far they go is down to the individuals.
