I think since the 60's our levels of intelligence as far as book smarts have gone up, but our common snese must have gotten lost somewhere. We are so focused on teaching kids about the prinicples of democracy that we forget to teach them not to talk to strangers (even if they're on myspace).

Probably intelligence is the same, but education is way downhill.
