I have understood that it means pedophile, NOT homosexual.
Please give me a source, thanks.

The bible also says that no man should lie with a woman, or he will be sinning. The bible doesnt say that lying with women is a mortal sin for men to do, just lying with women youre not married to. Same goes for men lying with men.

There isn't a word for homosexual in the Hebrew lang. Whenever it speaks of such things, it's always in reference to rape. Not something between two people who geniunely love one another. In the bible itself, it says that the reason for Sodom and Gamorrah's destruction was because of Inhospitable behavior.

But, for all the talk of homosexuality being a sin... and it also saying that all sins (with the exception of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.... note, holy spirit, NOT Jesus) are equal in the eyes of God... then if you lie, it's the same as if you committed a homosexual act. *watch them run for the Rationalization room on this one*

I assume this question is related to a biblical issue, I was not able to find a hebrew word for Homosexual because homosexuality is only refernced as "lying down with a man as those who lie with a women"

However the greek I found using Strongs numbers in the book of 1 Timothy Chapter 1 Veres 10.

The word is arsenokoites it means a sodomite it's used twice in the bible (other place 1 Corinthians 6:9. it comes from the root words Arsen which means male and Koite which means a bed.

Yet another attempt to employ rhetorical tricks to get around the Bible's prohibitions against homosexuality???

The relevant verse in Leviticus doesn't use "homsexual" or "pedophilia" in its prohibition against homosexual behavior.

It simply says that a man is not to have relations with another man, as with a woman. Simple as that.

The New Testament gives us nothing to replace or supercede that teaching, as it does with Old Testament teachings on other issues.

In fact, the NT clarifies that prohibition even further by clearly stating that it applies to women sleeping with women as well. See Romans 1.

iin the torah, there is no technical term for homosexual - the text reads that a man should not lie with a man the way he would with a woman and thatit is an abomination (it is in a series of "abominations")

the contemporary word is simply a transliteration of the english "homosexual"

There is no hebrew (biblical) word for homosexual, and I doubt there is one for pedophile either.
The bible uses cumbersome terms like "when a male lies with another male". I suppose it was to avoid any confusion like your question assumes. how about that!

I've never heard of a specific analogous word for it. When it's mentioned it is described. It says 'no man shall lay with another man as he would with a woman.'

The hebrew word for homosexual is not going to mean pedophile. If it did than it wouldn't be the hebrew word for homosexual, now would it? It would be the hebrew word for pedophile.
