Was that a system file that you've delete? If that so, you have three solutions:
1. You can repair your system by reinstalling the system files from windows installation CD but in this case you will loose all your program files only!
2. Format your PC!
3. Try the recovery consul!

What happens when you try to play something?
Are you just missing the icon for the Player Program?
