Do you mean AS a teacher? Well, I know I should not be embarrassed about this, but I still don't like it when I'm asked a question I don't know the answer to. I know I'm not supposed to know it ALL, not even about English, the subject I teach. But I still don't like it, when my ignorance shows.

I no longer teach kids, but I just thought about this incident on Tuesday, wishing I could forget it and wishing the young man it happened with could ALSO forget it and not break into loud laughter everytime he sees me 8 years later ~ he tells whoever he's with and I have to live it over again:
We were in the library and I was teaching them how to locate the information needed for their research. I was leaning over the computer keyboard toward the screen and I must have been really psyched to do what I was doing because a thick stream of drool fell from my mouth down onto my hand. It was so obvious and SO embarrassing. I would pick to do it with the kid in the school with the LOUDEST laugh and sickest sense of humor!
Aaaarrgh!

Heres one from my old High School student days, but will be remembered whenever I teach math as a teacher.

The Algebra teachers was explaining Angles and Sides, for Triangles. She wrote out the class A.S.A., S.S.S., A.A.A., A.A.S., etc... When one of the studnets asked about the idea of Angle Side Side. She wrote "A.S.S." on the board and crossed it out, saying it wouldn't work. Unawear of what she just wrote, the class broke out in laughter, prompting the prisapal (Who just happened to be in the hall outside) to enter and read the board. The teachers faced turned bright red as she finally relized what she did.

There used to be a television programme on Irish TV called 'The School Around the Corner' where children from different schools were asked question about all kinds of subjects. On one show, a boy from a Dublin school was asked if he had ever seen an accident. 'Yes sir' the boy replied 'And what happened' he was asked. 'Well sir, the milkman's horse fell into a big hole in the road and had to be shot by the vet'. The interviewer asked 'Did he shoot him in the hole'. Quickly the boy replied 'Ah Jezus, no sir,..................he shot him in the head'...............

Tripping over and falling flat on my face on the floor in front of a class - it kept them quiet for a moment though!

Once while conducting a discussion group with a small group of kids, I bent over to pick up my pencil and ripped off a HUGE fart. Didn't even know it was immenent. Years later my now ex-students still tease me about that when they see me.

the day I said in class, "you're being a smarta$$!" to a student.

I reported this to the Principal of the school myself.

The parent took my side.
