Just got a $50 Target gift card as a belated birthday gift for my 13 month old. She has plenty of books and clothes, but could use some more toys. What should I get her?

Sesame Street toys are ALWAYS a great choice. If she's not into Elmo yet, she soon will be! We've got Elmo toys and dvd's and videos all over our house! Whenever you purchase a Sesame Street product, the proceeds go right back into Sesame Street, and goes to teaching children all over the world to read! So buying Sesame Street products for your daughter not only benefits her, but other children around the world!

First, I don't believe a child can ever have too many books so I would strongly urge you to consider using your gift card to buy at least one book. However, visit Target's website and use the menu features to limit your search. You can shop by brand, favorite characters, etc.

My kids loved Fisher-Price Little People. They are washable, too.

Strollers for the dolls are also good and it gives them something to push.

A lot of stuff might go on sale at Target soon. Back to School/Fall/Christmas is right around the corner. You might find some good deals.

Hmm... good question.

You could get her some organizational stuff for all the millions of toys i'm sure she just got for her birthday...

You could get clothes that she can grow into (say size 18mos)...

You can put it towards some sort of outdoor play equipemnt... (little tykes type slide or something)...

You can purchase some DVDs... I started collecting the Disney DVDs for my daughter so that one day hopefully we can complete the collection. ..

Best of luck! And happy belated birthday to your princess.

If you have space around your home, what about a swing or a tricycle to play outdoors with? If it isn't feasible to spend much time outdoors then a computerised toy is good such a VTech system or a Leapfrog system where you can buy new programs as she grows up.

Anything that makes a lot of noise, has lots of flashing lights, and is fun to play with.

There is a little Drum thing (I forget the name of it) made by Leap Frog. The kid can hit the drum and numbers or letters flash on it. It teaches them the ABC's and 123's.

Fun and educational.

One of the walk along push toys or a ride-on toy. They have so many to choose from!

Don't get her any dolls. Since she's 13 months, get her baby toys. Electronic baby toys are nice too.

get a magna doodle, you draw on it and can erase it. my daughter loves it, they have travel sizes too wo you can take it in the car. how about a sprinkler? I just got one at Target that was the little mermaid, way too cute. take her with you and see what she points at. Babies are always popular at that age too. They have strollers so you could get her to practice walking.

Take her into target and let her pick out something...just let her find something she wants, it's her gift card.
