My brother died three years ago, his wife and four children and I were very close. She is my littel 6 year old dauhter's Godmother. She has become very distant, has new friends that encourage her to alienate me & others. I stood by her for a year when he died, when she could not bear to be alone. Our kids have always been extremely close. For no reason she does not like me, she pretends to be friendly to my face. Our kids are in the same classroom. She just got remarried and did not even invite her own Godchild, my daughter is hearing impared and constantluy ask me why she can't go to the wedding ot to Grace's house to play. I do not know what to say. This woman is EXTREMELY RELIGOUS, she is baptist, but she does drink wine when she is drunk she preaches to those of us who have different beliefs that we are goint to Hell. She and her children NEVER miss a Sunday or WED service. I am looking for scripture that talks about forgivensss and not treating others badly. any help appreciated

I'm sure she has heard of the "Golden Rule" Matthew 7:12- 'treat other's as you would like to be treated'

1 Peter 4:8 also says that 'love covers a multitude of sins' and since love is supposed to be an identifying mark of true christians, maybe you will be able to help her reason in that way as well as being forgiving.

Mark 11:25
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Mark 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Hope this helps, good luck. Just remember the best thing you can do for her is to pray for her. Prayer really does change things.

If I had my Bible and Concordance in here, I could look it up for you. It is, I believe, in all four of the Gospels of the New Testament. And please don't treat this as a brush off, but if you look it up, highlight it, so you can find it again, then you will remember it a lot longer. It is no sin to high light passages in the Bible. Mine is full of them.

Jesus said.....No man having his hand on the plough, and looking back is not fit for the kingdom of God.St Luke ,9:62
You need to examine yourself to have all the help of God you need not examine her.
