This is a family owned business and I could loose my job if I say something. But I have to constantly clean and work around them while they are there! Thank God school will be starting soon!!!

I call HR and have the person fired. This is a business, not a darned day care center. If you can't care for your kids you shouldn't have had them. That's what condoms are for.

This is what I would do, I would visit for a minute or two, make sure you ask what their plans are for the day and then say, "it was really nice to see you today, but I have to get back to work now, have fun doing????" This is an indication to the parent (and your co-worker) that you still have work that needs to be done, meanwhile you don't come across like a jerk.

Knowing this all to well from both points of view. I am an Accountant and I am more than capable of taking care of my child but he goes with me to my clients and they all know he is coming. He sometimes visits with others there but that is because they have allowed him to come play with him before so he thinks they are playmates. So my best recommendation is to find something that the kids like doing like coloring with special markers or something and let them know that if they want to do this special activity it needs to be done away from you and that you need to get work done or you won't be able to play with them cuz you won't work there anymore. its amazing how if you treat a child like an adult they will listen to you.

Close your office if you have one or just don't pay attention to them. Kids can pick up on vibes that you do not want to be bothered. Ask the parent to keep them away so you can work, say you have a deadline.

yes you should not take them to work w/ you, but some people have no other choice ( this happens where I work)

just politely tell them you'd love to talk, but you have a lot of work to do & that they should ask their parent if
there is something that they can do to keep them busy

Give them each a buck and say go wait for the ice cream truck on the curb. He's running late, but he will be there!

Whenever they come and disturb you, ask them a geography question... like what is the highest mount in Nepal .... etc..... kids do not much fancy geography so hopefully they will avoid you to skip the questioning ;)

tell them that you have alot to do and that they need to go see their mommy or daddy so that you can work, if this is a habit try keeping a coloring book and crayons or a hand held game in your desk for the kids.
