Julie said it best. Most of the so-called atheists on here perpetrators. They are not true atheists but demons and antagonists. True atheists are not in this section. They are minding their own business and living their lives. The trash talkers on here are full of it.

Agnostics answer questions too. Why do we do it? Beats walking barefoot on ground glass, or juggling coals.
I am not into debunking religion, because I figure that if folks used the brains god gave 'em for something besides a way to keep their ears from sticking together, they'd figure it out for themselves eventually.
While I am not as virulently anti deity as many atheists are, I am not fond of religion, because it actually leads people -away- from the contemplation and communing with their 'still, small voices' of common sense that dwells within them.
I hang out here and in similar places to be an 'exit' sign for folks who are ready to live in the here-and- now rather than pine for the hereafter. I am here to say that one does not have to worship a book-god, or go to a church or believe the 12,658,241 different things that are 'required' by religious dogma to get to an imaginary 'heaven' or avoid an imaginary 'hell'. I live in the here and now, not the hearafter.
I would rather quote Descartes than any scripture: "I think, therefore I am."

Why do so many Christians answer atheist questions? Are you trying to prove what you know to be untrue (god), by being as offensive to atheism as possible? If you want truth go read the origin of a species. Don't be scared of atheism, it is only truth. I only mess with Christians for fun, and to see how many react in a unchristian way to contradictions in their religion. Sometimes I try to keep people from wasting their Sundays.

Athesists and religious folk are pretty much the same. They believe in and argue realms of reality that just don't exist in this universe. They argue that invisible higher beings- that love you one second- but if you fuckup, you will spend enternity is a lake of fire. Think how absord this sounds. And then the counter- well there is nothing no more than what is here. Really? What is in the universe then... What created it all? Even if it is a gas, anti-matter, or monkey balls- what ever created it all must a 'god' then (as we know it). But y'all can go to hell for as much as I care. There is great BBQ chicken there. Hitler and Kurt Cobain will serve it to you.

We happen to be realist and would like everybody else to be realists so we can save this world instead of going with the status quo while the earth is destroyed and the suffering of innocents can stop. Because even though your god said help the needy and the poor you Christians don't seem to be doing **** to help. You seem more intent on that big house and saving your own soul from your own misdeeds than saving those who truly need it. So we as atheists feel the need to take over the crap job you religious types have been doing for centuries.

That's because they are lonely, lonely people and have no respect for anything or anyone.
They whine about how they just want to be left alone and not have religion forced down their throats all the while they insist on insulting and forcing their views (religion) on everyone else.
They accuse believers of being closed minded and using circular logic all the while they are guilty of the same.
They are such hypocrites.
It is the coldest, most hopeless, rudest and disrespectful religion (yes, it is a religion) that exists.

I so agree....I think atheists feel a huge need to defend what they think is right to make themselves feel better about cutting Christians down...them seem to zero in on Christians more than any other religion...they know we're the true way and they are probably just scared...oh well there not much you can do except try to save as many as possible even if it's only one person in your lifetime

in the initiating... Atheism: n, from the Greek a- without, theos- god. a million. the perception that there is no God. -- from the 2003 version of Webster's dictionary. for my section, that could favor to be ammended to comprise any and all gods, yet, close sufficient. So it isn't any longer a faith, that is a lack of a perception in God, so of route it ought to't be a faith. far as why atheists are even the following, nicely, you won't be able to have perception without disbelief, so we've each accurate to be the following. Secondly, some people were believers before we renounced our former religions, so we DO have some understanding of spirituality and faith, so there ARE non secular questions we may be able to reply to while not having to have a faith. or perhaps if you weren't believers before, i'm certain some have studied faith on their own academically, so that they, too, comprehend sufficient about countless religions to reply to questions the following to boot. Others are probably the following to percentage their memories and debunk better than some myths and generalizations about atheism.

Man, old DuckPhup must now have the record for the longest and best answer in the shortest period of time! Or maybe he had someone plant the question?
As to the thing about atheists really wanting god, I'd say there's the same type of truth there as in saying that non-drinkers really want to get drunk.

there's a number of reasons for that 1) even atheists have to have believe in something 2) It's a basic human freedom to put in an opinion no matter the subject 3) if you don't like it DON"T READ IT (that's a freedom too by the way) 4) if you want a place for just Christians then make one and invite only Christians

Maybe their atheistic views are a cover up for searching for the truth, which is that we were all created to have a relationship with the God who made us. Until we are living in a relationship with God, we will never find the true meaning and purpose of life. People are hungry for the truth, and some will go undercover to find it.
