I have been reading and studying the Urantia Book for thirty years. I have read every page of it many many times, including reading the entire thing out loud both at meetings and in private while my husband was driving. I give public talks about it whenever possible. I started out believing that it was an unusual work of fiction. I do not believe that "channeling" is possible, I think anything of that sort is just another way of writing fiction. After about five years and three readings, I began to wonder just how any Human Being could have made up all of that stuff. It is so complex, so coherent, so totally OUT THERE. Eventually, I began to wonder if it really might be true. It says it is written by beings from all over the universe. In fact the Seven Super-Universes, and the central and perfect universe and Paradise! Too much, but who else could have written it?

Then, there was the lawsuit. A lady I know, a sort of hippie type made up a computer version of the entire book, took it to the Urantia Foundation to give it to them for free, and they sued her! Well, she fought back, got "discovery" and was allowed months of searching any and every document there was still in existence about the origin of the Urantia Book. There was no evidence whatsoever that it was "channeled" it appeared to have been written inside a room sized locked vault at night when no human person was present.

Needless to say, with evidence like that the whole thing got thrown out of court after about 10 years, but it was all the proof I needed. By then I had become convinced by the testimony of my own intellect and spirit that the thing might really be valid. I love it. It is the most interesting piece of literature available on the planet in English in my humble opinion whether it is true or not, a great read, I hope you will all take the time to get to know it.

I read The Urantia Book. I am reading The Life and Teachings of Jesus. For some people they find it hard to get past that the book was channeled to a chosen individual through celestial beings. I feel that The Urantia Book is self authenicating. I love The Urantia Book and feel a closer relationship with God and understanding the universe and other universes in time and space. Are you reading The Urantia Book? Let me know what you think of it.

Well I haven't read much but when it starts off taking about God the Father I get worried - I don't believe that the Creator is male and see too often that this concept is used to subjagate half the population.

I will read more though as I am always open to the ideas of others.

I scanned thru it about 7 years ago. I it is full of so called ´new age philosophy which to me is nothing more than occult material. Anybody delving into the occult is just going into a spiritual ´´black hole´´ which is very serious risky business. The bible is the only spiritual book that gave us the prophets who foretold today's events and gave the best developments about Gods revelations to mankind. All else we can dispense with. God bless you!!!

I read it. It's a lovely fantasy parallel universe, with no basis in fact or reality.

The book now serves a very useful purpose: Propping up my computer monitor.
