According to gallup poles, US was rated as the 16th best country in the world to live in. I wish potential immigrants should take heed on that and go to the fifteen top rated countries instead before coming to the US. Is it because we have the Home Depot and they don't?

My mistake. I meant "why don't they (unhappy and dissatisfied citizens) go somewhere else. Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

Most Americans do not leave. If some want to, let them go.

It would be nice if immigrants would spread themselves around to the top 15 countries, but you know why they are the top 15?...because they are not overrun by illegal immigrants.

Actually, according to the Human Development Index, the US is ranked 8th, but different surveys will have different results.

Here's the Top 10:
1. Norway 0.956
2. Sweden 0.946
3. Australia 0.946
4. Canada 0.943
5. Netherlands 0.942
6. Belgium 0.942
7. Iceland 0.941
8. United States 0.939
9. Japan 0.938
10. Ireland 0.936

The rankings are based on life expectancy, adult literacy, education availability, healthcare availabilty, per capita income, and per capita spending power (income after taxes).

Immigration is an issue worldwide. Europe is having major issues with immigrant populations from former colonies and poorer nations.

There is only one way to work on immigration (illegal and otherwise) issues and job loss to poorer nations is to work to improve conditions worldwide.

They do often go elsewhere. Europe also has a big immigration problem. Proportionately, Ireland takes in more immigrants than the US. Western European countries are just fortunate they don't border any underdeveloped countries like Mexico.

I guess you mean 'why DON'T they', right? Well, I'm not a US citizen, but I'd imagine for the same reason that, while I can see a whole lot wrong with my country (the UK), I love it enough to want to stay here and try to change it - rather than getting the hell out and abandoning it to the dickheads currently in charge.

Why are you here? Because your immigrant ancestors left their countries of residence to come here for more and better opportunities than they had in their home countries. Nothing has changed since then.

The problem isn't that they're coming here, but that they feel they have to leave their countries for a better life. Who's holding Mexico responsible for the poor living conditions, awful wages, and lack of jobs? No one. That's the real problem.

No one wants to leave their countries to come here. They come here because they feel they have to. What would it take for you to leave your country? Think about that for a while.

absolutely! Home Depot is the best store in the world and therefore everyone is flocking to the US to shop there. If we didn't have Home Depot I would move because I couldn't live without it

Canada is considered to be a good place to live. I would suggest that the Border Patrol load all the illegals on to buses and ship them to our northern neighbor. There is no death penalty there so the criminals among them would prefer to live there.

If those whiners go somewhere else they may be arresting for whining too much. They know they have a good thing here and they ain't going nowhere.
