You didn't finish Robertson's quote. You stopped at "yes -- they are" but didn't give him the benefit of quoting him as to why he said that.

If you really knew what Muslims and Hindus believed, he basically wrote, then you would not want them running your country if your country highly valued freedom and equality.

Remember that Hinduism stresses an extremely rigid class system known as the caste system -- something that is totally opposite the American ideal, which stresses equal opportunity for all regardless of race, class, and gender.

As for Islam -- well, I think you can imagine for yourself why Islam's social tenets are in many ways antithetical to the American way of life.

I don't really like Robertson, basically, but on this score I think he has a good point.

Hindus and Muslims are welcome to practice their faith as they choose in the US, of course, but believe me, you wouldn't want their core social values to become dominant in a country like ours. It would make you want to pack your bags and leave.
