Not really laws, each police departent has procedures. normally not release the names to the press till they have tried to contact.
Often finding out who next of kin is the hardest thing.

There aren't any laws concerning this that I'm aware of, at least in my state. Fatality accident reports released to other agencies will clearly say "next of kin notified" if that's the case. Press releases also clearly state this.

I doubt it, but I know organizations have specific procedures. For ex, if the deceased is a military, they have strict rules that someone has to visit the home to inform the family and offer assistance.

I think you should check with the specific organization to find out what their rules are.

NAH I DON'T THINK SO, BUT I DO KNOW THAT IF YOU'RE IN THE MILITARY THERE ARE STRICT RULES WHICH STATE THAT A COMMANDING OFFICER SHOULD VISIT THE NEXT OF KIN TO INFORM THEM ABOUT THE DECEASED.
