It's ridiculous, they won't take it bad. You know Armstong was a cheater (see the LA Times) because he was dopping, that's why the French cidn't like it when they learnt about this. However, don't get me wrong, they will be pleased if the best racer wins, even if he is an American. The French really loved Greg Lemon who won the Tour in his time and he was American as well.

As long as it's not an American, they'll be happy.

london_aa_mm, You are wrong about the french helping out the most. Americans gave to their own people with the largest generosity of all time comparable to 911. We take care of our own when desperate situations arise. Don't wake the sleeping Bear. The people from Georgia and Texas especially helped the New Orlean's people out the most. We still have a vast majority of their population living with us. And, you only helped at all because you taught them about Mardi Gras and they were once a french territory. (I can be mean, you stinky frenchie...I have French blood too. :P)

we don't agree with your governement that dosn't mean we don't like americans.... we were one of the first to help new orlean during catrina , and also more than 100 american have been evacuated from lebanon by the french ........
so cheer up mate and come to europe some days...

Are you kidding, I am pulling for Floyd too but how will you feel feel if a Spaniard wins. 2 more stages to go.

Probably not too much because they already know they have no chance that is why they only care about stage wins.
