I have a Chevy pickup, I use it mainly to hold my driveway down, because of the gas prices, I like to drive it, but it costs twice as much as my car because of gas milage. So if I wait until gas hits $4 a gallon I probably won't be able to give it away. So what are you going to do?

I'm thinking about getting my truck converted so that it can use e85. Of course, I'll have to wait until I can buy e85 in my area.

I got a 5 speed four banger that gets about 36 miles to the gallon - and I only drive when I need to. If the area I lived in had better public transportation I'd leave it in the driveway unless I had to go long distance!
At least we're not being raked like some other parts of the world - in some parts of the EU the conversion works out to over $6 a gallon!!
Time for the dinosaurs in the oil companies to roll over. When we get more flex fuel I'll think aobut getting another car. Till then, I'm happy to save the money for cruises and family vacations instead of just getting around town.

Talk about getting caught with our pants around our ankles!
We did this before back in the 1970s... we had a whole class of gas guzzlers and we had to readjust to Toyotas and VWs.
We don't have an excuse this time. We knew better but couldn't resist the urge.
I have a Saab turbo that sucks gas like a 16 year old girl drinks diet pepsi. It's gotta go.

I drive a Corolla and get great gas mileage and I almost want to park it for a motorcycle or something. Gas is too expensive. I sure the hell wouldn't buy an SUV off somebody, even now. But I think people will just keep driving them. I mean, they buy houses they can't afford, insist on having cable when they can't pay the rent, why worry about whether you can afford gas or not?

"Wouldnt it were better in hinesight to only buckle down and construct better gasoline efficent vechles for the perfect 10 years and under no circumstances campaign congress to relax the guidelines. Wouldnt the large 3 be in crusing alongside purely fantastic now had they no longer finished that ?" properly....i do not imagine the GM HD 3/4 ton king cab and the Hummer are the only issues GM outfitted. the issue isn't the large 3 making midsize and compact autos....the issue is maximum human beings wont purchase them. considering 2002, a million/2 the rustic buys some kind of Honda, Acord or different import, why blame enormous autos? Why do shoppers pick to spend what ever quantities for imports than can rig with Nox so that they are in many circumstances quick and furious wannabees or each and every Asian contained in the U.S. has a Honda or Toyota sitting of their driveway? the issue isn't each and each and every of the U.S. motor vehicle makers. what's on your driveway?

I don't drive yet, but both of my parents drive gas guzzlers. MY dad has a Nissan Titan (he has to - he owns his own handyman business and needs to carry a lot of crap) and my mom has a Mitsubishi Endeavor. They both complain about gas prices, but my mom doesn't want to get rid of it and lose the 10,000 it has gone down in value already. When I get my first car, I plan on getting a diesel Volkswagen Jetta - about 50 mpg.

I had problems trading in my explorer 1 1/2 years ago because of gas prices. The value had plummeted. Have fun trading that puppy in when it hits $4.
