At this age he does not need to be fed in the middle of the night. You can get up with him and help him back to sleep, but dont give him a bottle. In a few nights his tummy will be re-trained.

I will feed my daughter, who is almost 9 mo. old dinner of a jar of veggies and a jar of fruit. She will eat 1/2 to most of both jars. Before she goes to bed, I mix up baby cereal, formula and more fruit. This usually holds her over until the morning. She may wake up once during the night every so often, but this is what I have found to work with both of my kids. He is still hungry when he goes to bed, so the hunger wakes him up. Make sure he has a full belly and you will get a good night's sleep!!!

Try giving him a bottle before bedtime with a little cereal mixed in. If he still wakes up, check on him to make sure he's ok, dry, etc. and then walk away. Don't even pick him up. You might have to let him cry it out which is excruciatingly hard! But, he'll be ok and eventually go back to sleep.

Ignore that first mommy starver!

Here is what you do,

Make sure you keep your child awake a few hours before the time you want him/her to sleep, then 30 minutes before you want them to go to bed,

Give the baby a lavendar soap bath(johnson and johnson soap).
Feed the baby. ( I don't know what you are feeding him/her, but formula or breast milk with cereal is the best) If you are feeding veg or fruit, is fine, too, but this is additional.
Burp, the baby, sing a song, put him/her to bed.
Baby should start to sleep through the night in a couple of days.

Don't forget, must have plenty of play time beforehand. Don't let baby confuse his/her days and nights. Good Luck!

This has been 4 kid tested. Mother Approved.

Only give him a bottle of water when he wakes up. Soon his stomach and brain will not wake up just to get "nothing." (That is, of course, assuming that everything is healthy and normal and he's getting enough nourishment during the daytime.)
