Contact a local police department. They can help you scare him straight! They can show him what he is in for should he keep his theivery up. Explain situation to them..they should be able to help.

Best wishes to you!

Come up with an elaborate plan. Call the cops or some friends, convince them to find your son and bring him home, and say that they are placing your son under arrest for fraud, have them take him to a fake jail and have him stay the night in the jail, that should scaare him quite a bit.
Or if you want to turn him into a kid terrified of everything, make him watch the Teletubbies nonstop until the point is across. make sure he can't escape. Make him watch it for about 9 hours.

Report him to the police for the credit card theft and press charges. The prospect of going to jail should go a long way toward scaring him straight. He's almost 18, for all intents and purposes, that boy is grown, and if he's going to commit adult crime like credit card fraud, then he should face adult punishment for it.

Your police department should have a Y.E.S. program to help trouble kids in need.
