according to Archbishop James Ussher of Armagh, Ireland (based on information from the Bible) the Earth and the Heavens will turn 6,010 on October 23rd.
Do you get Creation Day off from work?

I've got no problem believing in a creator, but read the entire bible and tell me how you can take it all literally. Really, the only part of the bible that is of any interest to me are the words of a very wise man, and they called him Jesus. Don't get me wrong, for I do not believe that Jesus was the son of God, but just as he put it, more or less "I am the son of Man", and when questioned by the Priests who were persecuting him, they called him a blasphemor, saying things like "So you say you're the son of God", and his response, if I'm not mistaken, was something on the lines of "I never said that" Gonna go do some more reading :)
Oh and for the people that think the Earth can't be older than 10,000 years, because they can't read it in the Bible, or that dinosaurs couldn't possibly have existed because that would contradict what is said in the Bible, or that God created the Earth in 7 days, are just as dumb as the 4.5 billion or so year old rocks that are on this earth. I mean, seeing straight ahead with your blinders on will keep you away from the reality of the world.
Most important thing I got out of Sunday school, was "Love one another as you would love yourself." Big problem with this is that too many people want to be loved and adored, and expect something in return for everything they give, and it's all for not. Not the way it works :)
Now, big question is, how'd that answer come from your question.... Go figure, it's just me!
Oh, and the error in the bible, it was written by man..... not God.
God needs no Bible to explain himself, people need a Bible to hide behind the truth.

Your looking at everything as if it all happen at one time.
Think of different time dispensations. Genesis 1:1 iS a different time than Genesis 1:2. In verse 1, God created the Heavens and the Earth. In verse 2, the Earth "became" void and with out form.
Before verse 2, this is when the dinosaurs were about. In verse 2, this is when God prepared the Earth for men in the flesh.

Too many people take the Bible too literally, those passages, I believe, are used to show God's power, after all, who could have possibly been there to witness it? Also, there is no real time frame stated in the Bible, like 10 thousand years ago, etc...and since all the books of the Bible were put together (and many left out) LONG after the time of Jesus Christ, it seems illogical to think of these things as fact. I live my life by the 10 commandments, anything else in the Bible, to me seems to be filler....take for example fish on fridays....was just put there to help out the main industry of the time period, fishing....

no, the sun moon and stars were made on day 4, God can make light without the sun and a very big God can create very big and very mayny stars on day 4 if he chooses
there is no good explaination of where the moon came from other than it geing made in place
our sun is remarkable in stabilty and we are in just the right space

I think you are smart enough to know what the various faiths think here. Also I think you are smart enough to know that this will have zero effect on believers and that non-believers will all pipe in with a chuckle.
So my question is why ask a question like this? I am not saying not to question. I am just wondering why ask a loaded question we all know how the various groups will answer (if they even choose too).

No one can date the sun. But, our solar system's movements have been watched and documented for centuries. It is definately an error in the bible's science catagory. It is a "shining" example of how flawed the bible really is.

kay, hun, get this
religion is one thing, some ppl believe it is a myth, others believe it is true
science, woow, hello? the explanation of all theories in life? some ppl believe in it, yet once again others dont! both are really different things, you cant mix them cuz they'll start debating and probably never end discuting.
ts like apples and oranges.
so what you gotta decide is which one you believe in, or if you find it sensible to believe in a little of this and a little of that!
ever tried an orange-apple pie? yum! :D
get what i mean?

I guess science must be wrong! How could we have been so blind? Of course, the ramblings of bronze-age sheperds should be taken as fact before any modern scientific data. Why did I waste my life on this silly, road called science? Oh woe is me!
Sorry, it had to be said.

The answer lies in the same place as one who believes that life in all it's diversity sprung from just a single cell organism - FAITH.
Whether you believe in God, Darwin, evolution, etc, there comes a point where you are going to need faith if you are going to subscribe to that belief.
