It could be night terrors. My daughter had them. They are still asleep but eyes are open. I used to have to talk soothingly to her. Just kept talking and talking until she calmed down. I thought she was awake. But she was screaming, her eyes were open and she was stiff, and she was terrified. It went on for about 6 months and then she grew out of it. Now she talks in her sleep, wonder if they are related?

These could be night terrors. A great web sight for learning about these is nightterrors.org.

If they are simply bad dreams, I would take special care in what they watch on tv, video games they play, and books they read. Also, a calming night time routine may help (snack, bath, brush teeth, story, snuggle, sleep time). After the dream, when they wake up, gentle cooing, and a short snuggle may help. Good Luck!

first you have to find out why is your child having bad dreams... there might be a reason ... and if you find that reason you can help your child alot
if you have more than one child make sure the other one is not telling him/her scary stories... that is the most common reason that a child has bad dreams , but it also can be more in to it
if you did not find out then take your child for a good consulting

that it very seriously and find the reason

good luck
