my cats and dogs have fleas, i bought some flea stuff at the store but it doesn't seem to be working. i looked on the internet for some other ways to get rid of fleas. i found one where you use lemons. so my question is has anyone tried it? if so does it work? or do you have any other ideas?

Bathe your pets regularly, until you get rid of the flea problem. Also, Use Frontline Plus for Cats and also for Dogs. Also, vacuum, very thoroughly and change your vacuum cleaner bag (or clean the cup, if you have a bagless machine) because flease can live in the bag/cup. One way to prevent this is to cut up a flea collar and put it in the vacuum cleaner bag. It will kill the fleas as they get sucked up. If worse comes to worse, get a flea bomb, they work well.

maybe is not what you are using is not working. Are you making sure to clean the house and where your animals stay? If not, then your pet might be just getting re invested again and again. Fleas are tricky and especially with cats that can get into more places, your best bet might be to flea bomb your house, and while that is being done take your animals to a groomer and have them treat your animals. Buy them a flea collar to protect them while they are outside and get rid of them all at once.

Don't buy the stuff at the store, You waste your money, go to a Vets office. Also a tip I learned is to put a flea collar in you vacuum bag so it will kill Fleas and eggs that may be pulled into the vacuum sweeper!!

i have a dog that is allergic to fleas i use advantage and he is on a medicated shampoo if your looking for a home remedy i can guarantee you this one because i also use it on my beagle and other 2 dogs and that is orange oil it had to be pure orange oil you put a few drops in a spray bottle with water spray them down or i do this also i put it in their shampoo and wash them in it make them smell Good. kills the fleas and a bonus you home most health stores or places that sell oils have it it cost about 10.00 for 1oz but you don't need but a few drops since it is pure orange oil and no burning and orange pill won't work as good.

Fleas are a bad problem. They breed in carpet, dirt, almost anywhere. You can't just powder your pet and expect the problem to go away.
Things like Advantage work well.

Get peppermint oil from grocery store. Mix in a spray bottle w/water & spray dog 2-3 x per week. Also put a touch of garlic in their food. I do not know how or why, but it works for me!

AS FOR CATS I AM NT WELL VERSED...
BUT FOR DOGS YOU CAN FEED THEM

NATURAL: BREWERS YEAST, BLACK WALNUTS AND GARLIC IN THEIR FOOD.

CHEMICAL: PERMETHERINE AND IVORMECTIN PRODUCTS ALWAYS BE CAREFUL WITH THESE. A DOG CAN DEVELOP TOXICITY FROM THESE MEDICATIONS. PERMETHERINE IS A TOPICAL SOLUTION AND IVORMECTIN CAN BE BOTH TOPICAL, INJECTABLE AND ORAL DEPENDING ON THE TYPE USED AND PERCENTAGE.

GOOD PRODUCTS DEPENDING ON YOUR BREED OF ANIMAL(SOME BREEDS HAVE A HIGHER TOLERANCE TO THESE MEDICATIONS THAN OTHERS) CAN BE ADVANTAGE, IVERCARE, INTERCEPTOR AND SOME FLEA AND TICK SHAMPOOS...

It doesn't. I tried that when my puppies were very small and it didn't work. You'll have to bomb your house and get flea stuff.
