I am looking so forward to my Fathers house..all the one's that I've known are there. The older I get the more I understand. I remember going outside as a young boy and feeling a coming rain, I could smell it coming...I could feel the breeze on my face..I loved that feeling. That's how I feel about Heaven.

This verse means so much to me. My father was in the hospital (and he did not believe the bible)...I picked up a bible in his room and was reading this very verse. I wanted him to hear, even if he didn't know what it meant right then, that God was preparing a place for him.
Before my father died, he said yes to Jesus Christ. Now I know he has discovered what all that means.
I think, more than we can imagine, throughout our whole lives, God records everything we love and we will find it there, waiting for us, in the "mansion" He has prepared. Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, the heart cannot conceive, all that God has done for those who love Him.

Just wanted to comment on the part In my Father's house are many mansions. I heard someone say one time that Jesus is telling us that in Heaven is many mansions. Then read the rest of John 14:2- In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would not have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. So this place Jesus is building could be a mansion, a 2 story home or a 1 story. My point is we might not be living in a mansion. Not trying to burst a bubble. Just when I heard a preacher say this I found it interesting.

Yes, I am homesick for Heaven, and long for the day to be with Our wonderful God, - no more tears, or sadness, no more pain etc, but I believe that we have much to do here serving our Lord. This is our preparation time so let's do it with all our might.
I believe that we are in the last days, the Bible has told us of the signs of the times, but we do not know the hour.
The Lord will come like a thief in the night, so, people....get ready!

i also am looking forward to my Fathers house where my mansion will be, there will be no more pain, tears, hurt, hatred, war, no more arguing, or prejudice, only love and togetherness, praise and worship to the One and only true God. people from all over the world ,every color, every shape every size- though we do not know yet what we will be like, but we will see God just as He is and we shall be just like Him) what an awesome time that will be for those that Choose Life through Christ our LORD. My thoughts are somewhat similar! He said that he goes there to prepare a place for us. Its nice to know that even though I don't own a mansion in this world I have one prepared and ready for me in the next world. Our temporary address is our earthly abode but our permanent address will be the new heaven. Its exciting as I know Jesus meant every word he said and he is truth. I am looking forward to getting there as I would like to talk with the Lord face to face and to Paul and David and others as well as they could well be my next door neighbors!

Logic error. You can't put a mansion in a house. Unless it's a doll mansion. But who would want a house full of doll mansions?

It's a lovely thought, especially the way you think of it. I used to dream about it, too. But make sure you don't forget to make the most of the time you have here on earth. This is an important time full of great promise.

the bible says in my fathers house are many mansions if it were not so i would have told you.i believe just that.we may leave in a shack down here but one day will have a heavenly home if we live for Jesus the best we can.thank god.
