Depending on how much weight you need to lose, you can lose weight within a month or so if you cut out some simple things in your diet and exercise three times a week consistently. When you are consistent and eat right, the weight will stay off. the problem a lot of people have is they will do drastic things to lose the weight but they gain it back later because they've never developed a healthy lifestyle to keep the weight off. I used to weigh 155 and I am 5'10. I wanted to get to 145 so I stopped eating so much junk food (chips, chocolate, pies, cheese, etc.) and still ate the foods I liked to eat but exercised 3 times a week. I ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes and did some weights. I stopped drinking so many cokes, too. As long as you can stick with a plan that changes your regular eating habits only a little bit and exercise consistently, then you can shed those pounds and not gain it back, but you have to be disciplined and consistent :)

Lifestyle, lifestyle, lifestyle. It takes time to gain weight and it takes time to take it off. If you loose too fast you are actually losing muscle mass, which lowers your metabolism. The best way to take it off for life is by eating a small healthy meal every 3-4 hours. Focus on lean meats, whole grains, fresh fruit and vegetables and plenty of water. Avoid skipping breakfast and meal and avoid eating a big meal within 4 hours of going to bed. Increase daily physical activity even if it means parking farther away from your job or home and walking an extra 100 feet. Including a regular exercise program of weights to build lean muscles mass and cardio to strenghten the heart will do more than any supplement on the market. Make living healthy a daily goal, but remember that persistence over time is better than perfection in every moment. Try being disciplined 5 days a week and have fun on the weekend. If you eat the appropriate amount for your height, gender, and metabolism (this last one is particularly hard to gauge), then it should not be too hard to get into the ideal weight zone for your height/gender.
Exercising even a little each day helps tremendously, and of course, you need to stick with your diet. If you go on and off, then you'll definitely gain the weight back easily. However, if you're already underweight for your height/gender, then it's natural for your body to gain until it's back to normal.
Self-control is the key here - choose a balanced diet full of fruits and veggies, and stick with it!

There's no safe way to loose weight at blazing speeds. Set a reasonable goal over a reasonable amount of time. That way you develop healthy habits istead of doing something extreme for 2 weeks then stopping cold.

the diet buisnesses are getting tons of money because they're diets work at first and then you gain weight more and strait after when your done;getting them more profet..
the best and most effecient way to diet is to excersise regularly and eat healthy food...if you want to lose weight fast cut down on coke and crisps.but you still need protien and sugar (and many othe things in you diet) to make it last..!

I went fron 140 lbs to 110 lbs. by just cutting whatever I ate in half. I did sit-ups and that was it. If you usually eat 2 slices of pizza just eat 1. fill your plate to how you usually do..then put back half. It's easy..you can eat anything! It's all about protion control.
