This is my second summer in Virginia and I didnt have this problem last year but for the past month I have been getting insect bites on different spots in my body, they get swollen, red and itchy...the last one though has scared me, it's on my arm and it grew bigger and bigger yesterday ..now it's as big as half-avocado (it really looks like one too as it's oval) it's red and aches!!! Itches very little! I kinda have a high tolerance for pain but it's being scary

Does your bite look bumpy? Maybe you were bit by a spider instead of just a mosquito? Check for two entrance wounds. If you cannot find a wound squeeze it a little to extract some fluid, that should show you where the entrance wounds are.

Either way go to the hospital. Mosquitoes are really dangerous this time of year because they could carry west Nile. And if you happen to get bit by lets say a brown recluse your skin could rot out.

yes you are allergic, my 12 yr old cousin is like that too. hers gets red, hot, and swollen, and itches little. they become like 8 in - 10 ins long. we took her to the er like 2 wks ago finally and the dr said shes allergic to bites, they just gave her a steriod and it went away, but its not to big of a deal bc she gets them all the time and nothing happens out of it. just make sure u use off and it will be okay.

Yah, you need to get to a dr. My mom got a staff infection from a yellow fly bite on her arm. Had light pink color under her skin in a few spots. Or you may have an infection. You need to see the dr. right away.

Go to the E.R. and have this checked out ASAP! You may have been bitten by a very poisonus spider. I'm not trying to scare you,but this is nothing to fool around with.
