Sorry, I don't want my taxes paying to retrieve people out having fun. If it's an emergency fine, otherwise they should pay! If it's expensive, tough luck, should have figured it into cost of the trip.

depends on what they use, and how long it takes. if they bust out the helicopter the costs skyrocket quickly.

also, they may not bill at all depending on the circumstances.
