I took someone's advice to see god in the eyes of a child. I tried it and saw fire and brimstone. So I brought the first kid back and tried it with another kid I found on the street and saw the same thing. Is there a special trick to it?

Make sure the kid is right-side-up when you look. This is called the "Divine Inversion Effect" Common mistake. Just turn the kid over and look again. If this does not solve the problem, you may want to head to the nearest place of worship, regardless of denomination and attone for your sins. Otherwise, all should be well. Hope this helps.

Yes. You need to hold the head of the child about 2cm from your face. Keep starring 'though' the eyes. Fight off the feeling of being cross eyed. Slowly move the child back, one pace at a time, always looking at the same point. The image will slowly start to appear as you move the child back. Patients is the key he, never break the stare.
If all else fails shake them like a snow globe - that sometimes works.

No,it was a coincidental reflection of a fireplace in both child's eyes. I also agree with Yama.
