It all depends on the college. My college application was front and back. No essays, no recommendations, just the key information was all they needed. Due to my grades I also recieved a half-ride scholarship which I received in the mail before I even knew I was accepted. Now, schools that are in the ivy league may be a different story, but at least at my liberal arts college, they wish to recieve more students. So it all depends.

It will probably continue to rise, but if you stay on top of your work and perform well on the standardized tests, then you should have no problem at all! Don't let it stress you too much, because once you're in college, you'll think "Why did I ever let this bother me so much?"
