In terms of relationships, when problems arise and a couple can't work it out or one person doesn't want to work it out anymore. Why does it hurt when you hear the guy say these things, "let's just be friends" and say, "I don't need anything from you."

cause u know your not gonna c that person anymore, u know that they r moving on without u, u won't do the same things together anymore, basically your whole life is completely changing and your afraid of change, u feel helpless without that person by yourside, like the whole world is on your shourlders, but eventually u will get better, time does heal the pain, takes longer 4 some people than others but u will move on, goodluck.

It hurts because you know how much time and effort you put into this relationship from day one. He makes you feel like he never gave a damn in the first place by telling you lets just be friends. You didn't do anything wrong he might just really be falling for you and is afraid of commitment. Start going out and chilling with the females more and the right man will come along and sweep you off your feet. In the mean time your ex will then realize what he had and feel real stupid . He might even try to come back into your life but look him in the eyes and tell him "Don't worry we can still be friends".

For every hi there is a low. I'm a psychology grad.
You're hypothalomus releases chemicals that make you feel emotions, make your nipples hard, make your heart rate speed up as well as your breathing. You are laterally addicted and you will go through withdrawals. Remember, time doesn't heal ****. When you learn something, the memory or learned behavior is there untill you stamp another learned behavior over it. Statisticaly, the relationships that last the longest have two people that are very similar (opposites don't really attract in the long term) You bond because of similar opinions, ideas, goals ect. That makes you both feel that you are wonderfull. Its self confirming.

It hurts because you care/cared for this person and no one wants to be rejected! At that moment, you feel like there'll never be anyone else but, trust me, there will be. And one of those "someone elses" will be the right one.

It hurts because you're losing your sexual partner or perhaps even one that you thought was a 'soul mate'.

You will get better in time.
