well, in the book of esther, haman plotted to have all the jews of persia and medea killed, but mordechai and esther intervenes. they were not called "hebrews" thouhg, but Jews.
Peoples like the midianites, the amalekites and others tried to kill all the hebrews in the desert in the 5 books of moses, and people like antiochus tried to hellenize all the jews in israel and when that didn't work, tried to crush them militarily.

The story is in the book of Esther, in the Old Testament. Esther intervened, and she is said to have saved the Hebrews from extermination during the period of (I'm pretty sure) the Abyssinian captivity.
