Black is blood..but actually a sign that she isn't bleeding so much, as a fresh blood would be redder....Just keep doing as you are and continue to pray for Faith..I'm still praying for her..

Black, dark brown, poorly formed or streaked with shades of dark brown, yellow-green or black are ALL clues that the dog is VERY SICK! The greenish color is bile, the liver is being attacked... black is old blood, possibly from the stomach being processed thru the gut winds up as a thick TArry substance. The dog is in GREAT DANGER. Parvo KILLS. Why are you asking what I think you already know? Take the animal to a doctor!! NOW.

SHE HAS PARVO? YOU KNOW THIS?

Only a vet can diagnose parvovirus. If your dog has it, it will die if it is not getting IV fluids and medicine at the vet.

If your dog has not been diagnosed by a vet, take a fresh sample of her stool and they will test it to see what is wrong. If your dog is not acting right or getting dehydrated, or the stool is abnormal for more than a day or 2, get him examined by the vet.

Blackish stool can mean blood in the upper digestive tract, that gets half digested as it comes out. She may just need antibiotics or dewormer.

if you dont know what parvo is then here is the definition:

1 : any of a family (Parvoviridae and especially genus Parvovirus) of small single-stranded DNA viruses that include the causative agent of erythema infectiosum
2 : a highly contagious febrile disease of canines and especially dogs that is caused by a parvovirus (genus Parvovirus), is spread especially by contact with infected feces, and is marked by loss of appetite, lethargy, often bloody diarrhea and vomiting, and sometimes death called also parvo

If i were you i would take it to the vet soons i can.

Definitely a cause for concern, as this is usually indicative of old blood in the stool. Get your dog to a vet.

dogs can have diahrea every now and then. it could be something in it's diet that shouldn't. it could have eaten something it wasn't supposed to eat whenever you weren't around. i would take your dog to the vet just incase.
