It's been years since I've gotten the test. Turns out I gotta get tested to for a job permit form. I'm really really really scared of needles.. How much does it hurt? I'm freaking out right now.

Take your fingers and give the skin on your hand a tiny but firm pinch using your fingernails. For about 30 seconds. That is how it feels. No pain, just a little uncomfortable. My advice is not to look, for some reason if we anticipate pain coming, our mind makes it much worst.

The Tb test is not painful. A very, very small needle is used. The nurse (or doctor) just barely pricks through the skin with the tip of the needle and then injects a very small amount of the solution just under the skin. It is not a deep shot and it's not an IV. That little tiny bit of solution in injected and you will have a little bump that will go away fairly quickly. The nurse must look at it in 2-3 days to see if there is a reaction. Remember, redness doesn't mean a positive reaction. For a Tb test to be positive, there will be what is called an enduration (a raised area) at the site. If you have every been stuck with a safety pin or needle while sewing, that's comparitable. I tell people not to look when its being done. Many can't even tell me when I have already stuck the.

Doesn't hurt at all. I have had a positive reaction from one so I no longer have those type of TB tests. I have to be tested by chest x-ray from now on.

well there is really nothing to worry about im also scared of needles and i had to get a TB test in order to be able to volunteer at the hospital and it was nothing. they dont really go in deep with the needle with most shots they put it under the skin and put some liquid there. so because it does not go under far you cant even feel it im serious good luck and dont touch the spot or rub it after they do it

it doesn't hurt a bit. They just inject a little bit of solution under your skin, then check it in 2 or 3 days to make sure it's negative. Sounds horrible, but it really no big deal.

my job requires me to get one every year. It doesn't hurt and takes less than a minute to get it done. Then 3 days later a nurse looks at the place you were poked.

It pinches for like a second and is minimally sore afterward for about and hour. Like if you had a zit that hurts
