because it's rude. AND it points out their ignorance. Talk to your other friends in English when they are around. And when your Spanish speaking friends aren't around, teach your English speaking friends a little spanish. It will empower them, and it can be fun. Quit being a pretentious butt munch.

Ignore them. If they tell you not to speak in spanish to other people who do. They might feel left out but they can ask what you were talking about to that person. well i speak spanish in front of my friends and they like it and wish they would learn too and they respect me the way i am and not the language that i speak!and if they don't like it let them be but don't change urself just because they say!

Tell them to go fcuk them self's and that you don't need to stop talking your language because they don't want to listen to it, its your mouth don't stop talking because they want you to, apparently you can speak English, so its a gift to be bilingual something they probably don't have. don't stop talking Spanish, because its the language most spoken around the world and if stop talking it you will forget it and believe you will have to learn it all over again.
