Yes, it's normal for there to be silent moments, and many people even consider it a relationship milestone when you reach a point where you can be "comfortably silent" together. But he's not comfortable with your silences, probably because he thinks there's a lot you're not saying. Are you holding back for some reason? Fear of saying too much? Fear of rejection? Try writing a journal to him that you don't actually show him, and see what kinds of things you might be holding back. If you get more comfortable with those feelings, you can start sharing with him more.

I think occasional silent moments are a sign of a mature relationship.
I think we need the time to reflect on what other people say; it shows that we care. Trying to avoid silence at all possible costs seems very immature and squirrely to me.
However, people need to communicate, too - so maybe there really needs to be some more words shared to reflect on.

talk to him about ur common interests,n other things common between u n him,
once u get started there is no stopping u gal

.... When my gf kept quiet it kinda looks like she is upset about something.... so y not try talking a little more than u normallly would. Of cos saying is easy but to find a topic is not ... Anyway. try ur best yah. Gd luck.

If you ask me he is kinda wierd, i am only 15 but here is my advice. If he thinks you should start talking why doesnt he? he has a mouth too and he could start a conversation just as easily as you could

Sometimes there are times when there is no need to talk. However, you also need to be able to keep his interest, and not talking about things doesn't show him who you are.
