the question is stupid. very...
but i will take issue with "michael G"s comment...
this country was NOT founded by very religious individuals...that is a rewrite of history and a myth that people accept without ever looking into the facts. the religious right wants you to believe it but it is false. Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine , and others could all be called deists. they relied more on reason than religion and they wanted to keep religion, primarily christianity, as far away from the government as possible. they would all be shocked and probably very disappointed by what goes on these days in regards to church and state.
sorry, "michael G", you have no idea what you are talking about. think for yourself.

Taking it away from them allows arguments for taking it away from other types of people. If we take it away from Christians because they don't think for themselves (though I would argue that point as well), why not Jews or Muslims. Atheists as well just listen to scientists. In essence, you are incapable of coming across all information in the world, though you can come across some. Everyone looks for information and passes it along when they believe they've found the truth, you must choose between them so in essence no one can think completely on their own and so it isn't fair to take voting away from a group solely because they chose to believe different information than you did.

While I often disagree with them, they are as entitled to take part in America as you or I, and I for one would fight to the death to ensure that they do. Lots of people are dogmatic and unreasoning on different subjects; only disallowing fools whose foolishness happens to have a religious component would be grossly unjust -- even if it weren't pretty clearly forbidden by the First Amendment. Fortunately, we have a Bill of Rights that is strong enough to even protect those who have no appreciation for it.

Political democracy is a stupid idea anyway unless it's accompanied by fairly regular revolutions. Destroying governments is the only way to keep their power in check.

I'm not advocating this, it's just an observation.

lolol me and my sis were just talking about this last night

people are entitled to belive in what they want, which is part of our country. if we were to ban christians from voting, that would not be right because it is in the constitution for free belief.

although, the majority of our population in america is christian and if we let religion overrule our government, it would corrupt our system. having a bias towards one religion would literally destroy this country. but it's the same if we disregard another religion, such as christianity. example is what hitler did with the jews

youre saying that people who believe in a religion dont have valid opinions?

did you just happen to forget that the democracy in this country was CREATED by very religious individuals, or are we choosing to willfully ignore that?

Christian voters have made this country a better place. if you take the time to read the Bible you will find how a true Christian lives their life and possibly something to believe in. I pray that you find God's love.

the right to vote for any legal citizen ( except certain criminals that have lost that right ) is what our democracy is about, many gallons of blood have been shed for this right. i want to see the religious right defeated in politics, but i would die for their right to vote,
