Why are there more obese women than fit ones in the U.S.?

Don't know but it seems it is primarily in the midwest states.

Probably for the same reason there are more obese men than fit ones in the U.S. Both groups eat too much and don't exercise enough....

Because obese women actually et to eat something, unlike what Americans think is fit. If you look like Jessica Simpson, you need to gain weight. Besides, you can be obese and more fit than skinny people, who because of their lack of fat and muscles are not fit.

Because society, culture, fast foods, education and so many other things fail to show women how beautiful they are, educate them on what is a healthy life style, and bombard them with things that are supposed to make them feel more beautiful, or 'look' more beautiful, all the while pulling them further from the love of God and the love of a decent man that can help her to see just how beautiful she is, which helps to keep both the man and woman in better health and shape.
On a side note, never in all of history has there been such a pluthera of empty-calorie, high chemical-concentrated foods as there are on the market today. Is it any wonder that many female bodies can't handle the amount of junk food that it is fed? We were made for so much better...

thats not true manily some women are obese b/c there are more cars in the us and they just eat and not work out... mainly alot of wemon care about there looks not to be that way and i would say there are more fit women then obese.

Both genders in the US suffer equally from obesity.
It is more a question of demographics, for instance, age groups, geographic location, level of education, economic class . . .
Men suffer from such a high rate of obesity that there has been a three-fold increase in the incidence of male breast cancer in the past fifteen years, for example.
Also, there is a double-standard for what is beautiful, which is inferred in your question. You might want to consider your own prejudices before posing a question like that.

The same reason there are so many obese men. The silly thing is the fat men who have guts so big they could push them in a wheel barrow still think they are hot and deserve a gorgeous model thin woman!!!!!!!!!

because men make use feel like crap about ourselves and like she said what do you consider obese anything over 110lbs because facts are that more men have weight problems then women
