From personal experience, yes you can take baths and showers with the chicken pox. A wonderful thing to do it to take oatmeal baths. It soothes the skin and helps with the itching. Be sure not to make the bath too hot though, just luke warm. If you make it too hot it will irritate the pox instead of soothe them. Usually about 20-30 mins should do the trick, then just do a quick rinse in the shower.

Sure, no problem at all. I was 25 when I got chicken pox and it was chicken pox not shingles, two separate diseases caused by the same virus. I spent hours in the tub with warm water and corn starch which helped to dry up the blisters a relieve the itch. I also took a book, ice, Dr Pepper and bourbon, really helped though I would not recommend the last for a three year old.

Definitely, either one. Soaking in an oatmeal bath provides some relief. Go to a pharmacy and buy the kind made for kids. It works best. My daughter had a bad case of chicken pox.
You might try applying Preparation H to the bumps. I know it works great on red bug bites. Call and ask your doc about it first, though.

Yeah, but don't scratch them or they'll leave scars but take a bath with cool water and wash his hair with warm water.
