I am thinking about going to a friend's church, but they are lutheran, and I would rather not go to a church that goes against my beliefs.

Oremus fratres, do we not all worship the same God? Do you not believe the only way to God is through Jesus, who died in our place?

Why do I need to be a catholic to go to heavan?

Relax Lutherans aren't enemies of God. For the most part they are solid christians that except a central controlled church government. You like myself are more of a rebel :) We like local control. But this "difference" isn't a big deal, what is important is our relationship to Jesus. Believe me the believe in the same God and Love Him just like you do. They believe in salvation by faith only. Who care how and when they baptize. Don't sweat the small stuff.

The main difference is that Baptists believe in adult baptism, that one must make a conscious choice to accept Jesus rather than child baptism as the Lutherans do. They are both Christan, with "technical differences". Luther did oppose the baptists way back when and many were killed by Lutherans and Catholics in the Thirty Years War. Just another example of why religion and politics don't do well together.

I am a WELS Lutheran.

The differences in beliefs that I am aware of are

We believe in infant baptism 1 Peter 3:21, Matthew 28:19, Luke 18:16.

We believe drinking of alchohol in moderation is not a sin because there are no passages of scripture that prohibit its consumption in moderation. Therefore we have been taught not to add or subtract from God's Word. Deuteronomy 4:2 and Revelation 22:18

I would be happy to go into more detail if contacted.

Lord's Blessings on your day!

Lutheran's are called protestants as they broke away from the Catholic church. Baptists have very different beliefs but depending on which Baptist, they have a variety of different origins.

I am a Baptist, and we believe in Jesus is God's Son who died upon the cross for our sins, and that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Which I am sure you know most of this. Not sure what else your looking for.

>additionally i admire greater classic music with the pipe organ and anybody stands up and sings from the hymn e book< nicely then you definitely are in seek of the Methodist Church. one element people continuously say approximately them is that "they valuable choose to sing." they have a tendency to have greater classic music somewhat than the guitar and drums "happy Clappy" music with compliment bands. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that all congregations are diverse and a few are greater classic than others. In my line of artwork I pass to an undesirable lot of churches, truthfully all of my purchasers are churches. the vast majority of them are the two Methodist or Episcopalian. The latter are much greater classic than the Methodists in the experience that they have a service it fairly is comparable to the previous Catholic Church. it particularly is totally on the threshold of the Church of britain, basically a number of them call themselves "Anglican Episcopal." The service is somewhat musical and somewhat problematic with incense ("smells and bells") and the monks now and lower back prostrate themselves. I have no commonly happening Lutheran purchasers and the final time I went to a Lutheran service i grew to become into somewhat frankly a great deal shocked, being a musician I predicted something greater classic musically - the Lutheran Church being the church of Bach and all the German Baroque composers - yet there grew to become into not something like that kind of music. It grew to become into all cutting-edge stuff produced via digital gadgets or recorded. The clergyman walked around with a on the spot mic on and there have been video monitors. inspect the Methodists. they have continuously inspired me as valuable people and very accepting. so a great way as Catholics pass - and apologies to my Catholic acquaintances and purchasers, their musical standards took a nostril dive after Vatican II to the upward thrust that somebody wrote a e book pronounced as "Why Catholics won't be ready to Sing." as quickly as I tell people my occupation they commonly say something alongside the lines that maximum of my purchasers might desire to be Catholic. No. I do have a good sort of them on the checklist however the greater contemporary Catholic churches not often have pipe organs and maximum situations don't have organs in any respect. The final new Catholic church I visited jogged my memory greater of a gym architecturally and that they used recordings, a transportable digital keyboard and a guitar for music. lots of the older Catholic churches have discontinued use of the organ.

They both are following false doctrine . Don't think that I'm judging them , I'm only stating fact . It is not your beliefs you should go by , it is God's commands you should go by . John 14:6

It doesn't really matter. They are both Protestants and will never get to heaven unless they convert to God's Church, Catholicism.
