I really liked the book Heaven by Randy Alcorn
It is very complete and worth the read
the last book in the series of the chronicals of Narnia deals with heaven and the whole series is worth the read, or the listen and i liked the audio series Focus on the Family made on it
There are several descriptions of heaven in the Bible
but in the end heaven is not a 5 star hotel, God is the centerpiece of heaven. The great adventure will be knowing God more and more, like climbing a mountin that never ends with more spectacular new views to see and savor more and more of God in the inexahaustable great adventure that will never end.
and the virgins... oh yes... not exactly.... just as there was one marriage in the garden there is in a sense one marriage in heaven in a sense...but Jesus said in the usual human sense men will not marry or be given in marriage, this will be between Jesus and the Bride of Christ the redeemed and just as sex is beyong the grasp of a 3rd grader the relationship of Christ and the redeemed in heaven is probably beyond us except that it will be wonderful and not somehting to miss
God will be the ceterpiece of heaven and yet the icing on the cake will be that Heaven will have alot of the best of the cool things of the world today taken to a higher level and more All the things that resonate with the human heart will be there
Hell's gunno get old fast. Real real fast

I know how you feel! People keep telling me that I'm going to hell! From their description, it doesn't seem like a place that I would want to visit. I mean molten lava is just not my scene. And the people there, I mean I had might as well just visit Paris if castigation and ridicule were my cup of tea. No, I think South Dakota is a good idea. I'll see you there.

It's cuz heaven can be wutever u want it 2 be. but in the Quran, there's a kind of religious travel brochure and map. There's a river of milk and honey, u get 72 virgins, and ur wife. Everyone will be at the age where they were @ the peak of their lives, and everything that wuz forbidden will become okay. 4 more stuff. type "Quranic Heaven" or "Islamic Heaven" in google or wikipedia.

here again if you read the word of God you will learn all about the hear after. also people have had out of body experiences and they have had glimpses of the joy and beauty and have came back and told us about it. again read the Bible. It is so great on everything. the Laws of God and I am sure heaven is as beautifull as people who have had theseout of body experiences tell us about. I want to go to heaven and all you have to do to assure you are going there is ask God for his forgivness of all your sins and try and do better in your life and try and follow Gods word. every one sins even after being saved. no one is perfect. u will know right from wrong because when saved you do have a conscience. you will be fully aware when you get saved that you are doing wrong. than you work on it to do better

Though you might not believe it or even care, there are many people who have died temporarily and told of their accounts of heaven. The streets are paved with gold so pure that it's practically transparent. All of our senses were heightened. There will be thousands upon thousands of songs playing, and we will be able to hear each one of them as if we're right there. Our voices will be completely pure and majestic, colors exist in heaven that don't exist on earth, we will have solid gold mansions filled with our many blessings; There's grand descriptions of heaven if you look.

The Bible gives a description of Heaven in Revelation. John describes vividly what he saw. There are streets of pure gold, gates of pearl, walls of jasper, crystal rivers. In one of the gospels it speaks of mansions built for those who live for Him. It also says there will be no more sorrow, no more pain, no more tears. There will be no burdens. We will no longer have to worry about sickness or death. It is all there in the Word.

What gets me is why people talk of how wonderful heaven is yet they try their best to postpone going there by going out of their way and spending outrageous amount of money to keep themselves healthy and accident free.
For me, heaven is a state of mind. When I'm exceedingly happy and things are going my way, I feel that's heavenly for me. When I'm of any negative feeling, I call that hellish.
So, in that case, it is right to convince people the benefits of heavenly state.

the bible does talk about what heaven is like. No one can convince you to go there, it's up to you. I get you would like to smell the burning sulfur and peoples screaming, who knows what their breath and odor will be like. God isn't of body, he's a Spirit.

Jesus ascended into Heaven, so it must be some place high up. If Heaven is high you have the potential to fall. I really don't like falling much so I'll stick it out down here.

hah I know cuz the Bible tells me, and South Dakota isn't spiritual so you can't compare the physicall with the spiritual. Its like saying I can't see negativity (itself; not the effects of it) so why should I believe? But I see you are mad or irritated. If you are gona operate only on the physical level when we operate on all three levels(physical, spiritual, and with our soul) then you won't ever see.
