All religions are cults.

Even if they're true.

A cult can be defined as: A system or community of religious worship and ritual.

There are those who define cult as a false religion. This shows the speaker's true bias when he calls all other religions cults but not his own.

Cult - maybe a little strong but religions as a whole are very cult like. They tell you how your supposed to live your life and if you don't then they advise you of the dire consequences. A lot of people need crutches to get through life because they aren't strong enough fundamentally to do it on their own. I believe religion is more of a crutch than a cult.

Think about this, people make fun of scientology and their crazy beliefs - what's the difference between scientology and christianity? Time - If chrisianity didn't exist and someone started preaching it today no one would buy it. Think about Mythology and all the Gods they believed in, we find it entertaining today, in few hundred years people will look back on Christianity the same way.

In modern connotations, a cult is an organization that takes control away from you. They literally tell you what and how to think, what to do, how to act, who to associate with, etc. This is how the word is used when talking about things like Waco.

Christianity has its rules and structures and guidelines, but you are always free to leave and you are always free to return. It, like any religion, is a cult by the barest, strictest dictionary definition, but it is nothing like the Cults we hear about on the news.

As for the rest about Jesus, that is a matter of belief. Millions of people believe that he is the Son of God.

Personally, I don't think this Jesus dude even thought he was the son of god or anything special. I think he had a different take on god than his religion did and he talked about it. After he died, he became larger than life because everyone back then was looking for a Messiah. It's just steamrolled since the, mainly because that particular faith became a state religion.

Catholic Christianity is not a cult. It is the original Church founded by Christ, who is the Son of God and truly God Himself. If you reject the Catholic Church, you reject the Church that Christ founded, and so you are rejecting Jesus Christ (and therefore God). Please consider seriously what you are doing. It is not a light question. It is very serious. The choice is yours, of course, since God never imposes Himself on anyone. You are free to choose. May you choose Good and not evil, Truth and not lies.

Jesus was probably the David Blaine of his time. Have you guys ever seen his street magic? When he shows his levitation trick to people on the street, they think he's some kind of mystic or holy man...as if he was REALLY levitating!! It's a freaking trick!! There's no such thing as "magic".

It could be that Jesus was the best magician EVER.
