I hear men talk against women that are gold diggers because they ask about a man's money but it seems llike one of the first questions men ask me is "what do you do for a living" Do you enjoy your job" ?
In the past men didn'lt worry about what a woman did for a living or whether she had a job because they knew it was there responsibilty to take care of their wife and family.
I am sick of men asking me the same question and no I really don't enjoy my job, it's just a paycheck that doens;t even pay the bills. Why don't guys ask me about my interests or my political or religious beliefs as these are the things that carry alot of importance in a relationship?

i know exactly what you're saying.
Im a broker and when I meet someone new and they ask me what I do and I tell them either:
A little light goes on in their eyes or
they pause and they say....oh really....you are?
and they get this s.h.i.t eating grin on their face like "oooh, I betcha she has a nice house and car"
and i do have a nice car and a nice condominium and I didnt
earn it by sharing it with losers, you know?
No one wants to work for it anymore. Theres no honesty in the
dollar. These are also people who say "money doesen't make
you happy." Thats because they naver had any, and they are just
making excuses.
Preach on sista!

Not necessarily. Asking about your job is something to break the ice and get a conversation going. If the woman doesn't have a job, that can be a red flag. How does she support herself if she's not working?? It could mean that she's looking for a guy to pay her bills. Of course, if you have a good job and their eyes light up, it could mean that the guy is looking for a free ride...

Yeah, I had a boyfriend that immediately asked about my money situation. I think men are so afraid that they can't afford a family in todays economy. It is really hard unless they have a high paying job which to be honest alot of men don't have.
