Take a look at the ingredients on the can of coke, and ask yourself if you really want any of those additives in your system. The answer is probably a big fat, 'NO!' And that's great.
You deserve congratulations for trying to get back in shape. You're obviously very sincere in your efforts, and that's more than half the battle. Plain water is the best thing you can drink, but it does get tiresome at times. You can help out by adding things to the water -- a pinch of lemonade powder, a little cold tea, or peppermint tea, a drop of vanilla, you've got a ton of stuff in your cupboards that you can use to flavour the water -- and that's all diet coke is, is flavoured water. If drinking water makes you nauseous, you may be drinking it too fast. Try adding ice cubes and sipping it over a period of time, rather than chugging it down.
Hope this helps -- it sounds like you are on the right track!

Well, my first instinct is to just blurt out "YES!!!!". But that is just partly because I think all soda is bad for you, and there is no nutritional value in any of it. But I did take a little bit of time to look up some stuff on the internet. Since it is diet coke it has aspartame (nutrisweet) in it which is a brain drug that stimulates your brain so you think the food you're eating tastes sweet. On the website I was looking at it said that anything else you eat at the same time will taste sweet too. And it makes you crave carbohydrates, which doesn't help if you are trying to lose weight. There was a lot more information about aspartame on the website I looked at. Plus, I believe they had some other links on there. I would recommend checking it out. As far as drinking water, that is the best thing to do. If drinking just plain water isn't all that appealing try making tea. In the summer I like to make sun tea...just add a few tea bags of your choice in water in a glass jar and set outside in the sun for a few hours, chill and drink. I also have been drinking apple cider vinegar...just add some of the vinegar to a glass of water, and sweeten it with honey or stevia powder (natural sweetener). This helps with weight loss. Also, just a squeeze of lemon helps make plain water a little more exciting to drink. :) And if you just take a stroll through your local health food store I'm sure you will find lots of other healthy beverage options

The trouble with diet stuff is that people consume a lot more than the regular ones thinking that it's diet. In case of sodas, they are all bad, so done in moderation is not bad for you if you wash it out with lots of water.
In your case of trying to use diet coke as a substitute for water is bad. I used to get nauseous with water too, so I just chuck down 2 cups before every meal without breathing. After few days of it, my body got used to it, and I could tell that my health was improving. Try it, it'll work for you too!

Because it has no sugar, it has sweeteners and other chemicals instead. At my collage the PE teachers were advicing people to drink regular coke instead of diet, that is if you HAVE to drink coke at all.
My advice would be to cut out all fizzy drinks. If you are fed up of water, try smoothies or fruit juice.

Yes it is bad for you as it contains aspartame. Why do you not drink ordinary coke or any other beverage?coke has no fat in it so it in itself cannot make you fat.Only fat makes you fat.Cut out fat and your body will begin to burn excess fat for energy. The only reason people believe that sugar is the danger is because it is quick energy. If you eat a hamburger and Coke it is not the Coke that makes you fat but the burger. The body uses the sugar as energy and stores the fat from the burger for later use.If you eat a fat free burger and coke the body has nothing to store. It cannot convert sugar into fat.Only fat makes fat.Sugar only gives energy as it is fat free.It is the same with carbohydrates.Every body says 'stay away from carbo'.Carbohydrates cannot make you fat unless it is prepared with or in oil, be it animal fat or plant oil.The body does not discriminate between different types of fat or oil.Even olive oil or omega 3 fatty acids can make you fat if there is an abundance of it in your diet.

I've heard it is. Not to be scary or anything but diet coke has a compound called pheneleutronkics. Studies have been done with that compound and some results have been cancer.

YES! YES! YES! It causes so many health problems such as diebetes, cancer, heart faliure, etc. It's better for you to drink real soda, but I recommend not drinking any soda and just dink water or something else.
