obviously the answer can't just be a simple yes or no. if anything, it needs to be a "sorta" somewhere in the middle.

if you say "yes, god wants us to know", then i have to ask why he doesn't just make it blatantly clear. i mean,, he could answer every prayer if he wanted to, and talk IN PLAIN VOCAL LANGUAGE (which ever language a person understands) and there would be ZERO non-believers.

instead though, christians seem to say things like "well,, he wants us to believe on faith.", which is essentially saying "he doesn't wanna make it TOO obvious. he wants us to sweat a little." so the answer then is "no", right?

ok,, well if your answer is "no, he wants to make it more like a puzzle", then you can't say that he gives us so many signs and that non-believers are just denying the obvious.

what i'm asking you guys to do is make up your minds. i want to know where each of you stands on this. and if you admit that he's making it tricky on purpose, then please explain ....... (READ MORE)

..... please explain why god likes tricking us., or why he feels he NEEDS to weed out some of the people who can't notice his subtle signs.

I would say that God does want us to know and he makes it very clear. You say that clear would be "talking in a plain language" which would lead to ZERO non-believers.

As a Christian, there are two witnesses to God. First is creation. Any non-believer would say that creation is a product of random particles and long periods of time that came to create the world, and us. Christians see the creation, and say "There must be a creator." This is general revelation. It tells us there is a god, but not who that god is.

Special revelation would be the specific ways that the God of creation tells us who he is what he is doing. The Bible does that.

Point in all this... no matter what "proof" there is, many folks deny it, or ask for more. If you want a PLAIN LANGUAGE, then the next guy will want the PLAIN LANGUAGE + something else. It's never ending. God gave us enough to believe, but left enough open for doubt. Some believe, and some doubt. Depends on how you interpret the data.

what do you mean subtle? As if the universe was subtle? Or life itself was subtle? Do you really believe that everything you see happenned as the sum of random events?

The Bible claims that the glory of God is evident to all creation. I can't remember the exact location off the top of my head though. Anyway, look around you and its obvious. There is nothing subtle about it.

God wants community with us. Why then would he not want us to know that he exists?

Of course God wants us to know that he exists. I my opinion, it is the arrogance of man which would try to say that there is no God. The evidence is all around you.

God is looking for those who will worship him. God is looking for who will worship him in spirit and in truth. If you are an atheist, agnostic or some other non-believing person of a sect, you must be open-minded and seek the truth in reverence of a higher power. God answers those whose hearts are contrite and repented. God don't throw tricks only Satan does that. Those who communicate with God are in fellowship and have a true personal relationship him daily. Christians believe that we should pray without ceasing.

You are asking Christians this question. If you know anything about us, we already know that Jesus and God are one and definitely exist. God does nothing to trick us. Jesus came on earth to save us from our own destructive path. Without His saving grace, we are all doomed. All the answers you want are in the Bible. If you have trouble understanding them, then seek out a minister to help you understand. Once you do, you will be very happy you did and you will understand what God's plan entails.

God is not the one that is tricking us. His existence is clear to me when I look at creation, when I read the Bible (which is His word to us). Satan is the one that is being tricky. He wants to distract people from the truth-that God does exist and he wants us to worship him. It all has to do with that first lie that Satan made to Eve and the following challenge that he made to God. He said that humans don't need to be ruled by God, they can rule themselves, and the only reason they follow God was for selfish reasons. Satan wanted the worship of humans, so he deceived most of mankind into believing false teachings about God and distracting them from learning the truth. God is a real person to me, it is so plain and clear that he is alive and cares about people. He is waiting and allowing suffering to prove that Satan is a LIAR. We need God's rule. Look what we have done to ourselves by ruling ourselves? Death, suffering, misery, hatred, hopelessness, and more death. Don't you ever think that there has to be more than this life? Well, there is. Soon God will act on behalf of his faithful worshippers and more importantly, on behalf of his name and sovereignty. Read Daniel 2:44. Then read Rev. 21:3,4 too find out what he will do for mankind.

God does show himself but not on the physical but in the supernatural realm and its up to you to plug in. God knows what is best and guess what you are not the first to ask whether He exists or not. The worshipers of Baal were proven with fire coming from the sky and scorched up the soaking wet wood to prove that He is God, not Baal. Well you probably still wouldn't believe it if a friend witnessed it and told you about it right? hah its gota be one on one with God, He shows you and only you for you to believe.

It's not a matter of God tricking us, it's a matter of us learning to trust Him. He has given us the Bible and has given us enough information to know that he exists in there and it's up to us to decide whether we believe it or not.
