just bring ur ipod, and some midnight lunch money.... it's not that bad, the situation could be worse.... like staying overnight at LAX.... which is way crowded than LGA or KDY...

I have been in La Guardia and the Kennedy airport (I don't know if there are any other ones in the area, but those are the specific ones I've been in). Both are very busy during the day; so, you can run around playing pranks on your fellow air travelers, annoy them with stories about your sex life and drunken times, or just being a hassle in general...however, at night airports are generally less busy. For example, I have been in many international airports overnight, and it's good enough to sleep there then (but I sleep easily even with noise and light). I've slept in airports at night between flights before because there's no one who looks exciting enough to place bets with on stupid things or play cards with me.
Also, I know that at some of the airports I've been to will not allow you to leave between flights, but I am not sure about this in American airports...I know some airports overseas do not permit that. I've never left the airports between connecting flights anywhere though, and I just assume that most airports don't allow you to leave between connecting flights; as I say, I haven't tried to though, so, I wouldn't know for sure.

Nothing! I had to wait 4 hours and I just hated it!
Bring a book, or laptop, or go to the hotel, you can sleep like 6 hours.

If you tell us the airport we can give you some ideas. you could even rent a car for $80.00 explore Manhattan and get back to the airport for less than the cost of a hotel.

Well there's so many terminals at JFK that it depends which one you're in - I can tell you there's not much in terminal 4 though!
