Have You Ever Dated a Guy Whose Mother Was a Cheater?

Question

In the past, I dated a guy whose parents were divorced after his mother cheated on his father. I recently met another guy with the same circumstances. I'd be interested in knowing whether any of you have dated guys with this issue in their backgrounds, whether you've noticed any general personality traits that were common among them, and whether they were good or bad partners. I'd like to compare notes. I have my own views, and will express them later so as to not color your responses. Thanks.

My ex-husband's mother cheated on her first husband with my ex's father. I did not know it until we had been married a while, though. This is what I learned. Mom marries H1 and has 4 children. H1 gets sent off to war. While he is gone, Mom has an affair with H2 (they marry later) and has 2 children. H1 comes back to a hero's welcome. The whole town turns out, with a band, to greet him. H1 is pretty shocked that Mom has 2 more children. H1 tries to make it work, but Mom is still messing around with soon to be H2. When Mom gets pregnant with the 3rd child with H2, H1 finally agrees to a divorce. Since Mom was married to H1 when the first 2 children were born, my ex and his sister legally had the last name of H1. They did not know the whole horrid story until Sister turned 16 and wanted a driver's license. They later had their names legally changed to that of their father.

Sounds like a soap opera, doesn't it? It is all true, though.

I slowly learned that my ex had absolutely no respect for women at all. He did not trust me. I could not even speak to my neighbors without having to justify my "flirting" with another man. The marriage was abusive and did not last long.
